Victor started taking accordion lessons at the age of 7.
By the time he was in high school, he was also playing
the Bass Clarinet and the Baritone Sax. He's been a
pianist/arranger for such groups as The International
Ray Camacho Band and Los Elegantes. Victor has recorded
over 20 albums with various groups and has played with
the Jorge Santana Band, Malo, and currently with The
Voices of Latin Rock. His tour experience has allowed
him to share venues and trade sets with Tito Puente,
War, Los Lobos, Tierra, Little Joe y La Familla, El
Chicano, The Platters and many others.
Drums
Vic is another musician now with Lava who has previously
toured with Malo. He along with Joaquin and at times Vic
Bejarano are all former members of Malo that are now
working with Lava which allows the band to have a true
Latin Rock sound!!!
Bass Guitar and Vocals
Joaquin Solorzano was born Managua Nicaragua, through
elementary, jr. and high school, he learn to play the
piano, clarinet, bass and rhythm guitar. As he grew
older, it was the Bass guitar that over shadowed the
other instruments as he became influenced by Stanley
Clark, Jaco Pastorious, Larry Graham, and Paul
McCartney.
By his early 20's, he was on the San Francisco music
scene with a number of different bands which eventually
landed him as the bass guitarist for the legendary Latin
Rock band MALO, and toured with Malo from 1986-1994.
Joaquin has had the privilege of sharing the same stage
with such greats as Santana, Eddie Palmieri, The Neville
Brothers, Van Morrison, Tower of Power, Cheap Trick, The
Spencer Davis Group, Linda Rondstadt, The Gap Band,
Abraxas, Jefferson Starship, War, and Pete Escovedo.
Currently he is collaborating with his dear friend,
Diana “Dee” Felix, as they are in the process of
recording their first Christian CD.

Andres' playing travels have travels have taken him from Brazil, to
France, to London, and throughout the U.S. His sensual
style of playing has the tendency to give the listener
the felling that your listening the Gato Barberri.
Andres is also in high demand around the bay area
because of the fire he brings to the stage.
Timbales, Congas, Bongos and Vocals
Our Featured Artist is Mio Flores who toured with Los
Mocosos in 2004 as they were the opening band for
Santana on the Santana Shaman Tour. He has either worked
or played with Santana, Malo, Sapo, Pete Escovedo, and
Willie Colon. He is highly sought after from many
different bands throughout the bay area. He has recorded
many CD's with different people as either backup
percussionist or as a featured artist. His creativity on
Timbales enables Lava to take just about any song to the
next level, and once you hear him play, you'll see why
he's featured.
Trumpet, Vocals, Percussion
Manuel has studied and played trumpet for the past 24
years. He has studied music in the east bay with
conductor Bill Bell, and the Bill Bell Orchesra. He has
also studied trumpet under the director Phil Hardyman,
and the legendary Carlos Fredrerio. It was Carlos
Frederico that inspired Manuel into Latin Jazz and
Salsa. Manuel has also studied music with the famous
trumpet player Julius Melendez (trumpet player for
Carlos Santana). Manuel has led two Salsa bands in the
east bay, Orquesta Radiante, and Orquesta Cadencia.
Lead Guitar and Lead Vocals
Richards soulfulness on lead guitar gives you the
felling that your actually listening to Carlos Santana
himself. His experience in Latin Rock stems from the
band Amigos, a Santana tribute band, who cover Santana to
the note. On lead vocals, you would think that Prince is
on stage singing because of the range that Richard has.

Congas, Percussion, Ensambles, Vocals and Management
Founder and manager of this project, Delbert has studied
under percussionist extradanaire Pete Escovedo and Tam
Saguyan, two renowned musicians in the bay area. He has
been in a number of percussion onsambles over the past
15 years, and his playing of the Congas gives on the
feeling your listening to drums from Africa!!!
Trombone
Allen rounds out the horn section along with Andres on
Sax and Manuel on Trumpet. His in your face style of
playing the trombone makes the horn section of Lava a
force to be reckoned with. They give you the impression
that your listing to Tower of Power, with Latin flavor
added to the mix.
